Rodrigo García Palma is Chief Commercial Officer and Founder of ImplementaSur, where he drives partnerships with public and private actors to accelerate the transition to a low-carbon, climate-resilient economy. With over 20 years of experience, he has designed and implemented strategies to mobilize climate finance. Rodrigo has developed meaningful frameworks to unlock funding, helping to craft financial incentives for more than 150 early-stage projects across Latin America.
His work bridges technical analysis, policy guidance, and commercial strategy to scale sustainable infrastructure in developing economies. He has supported the integration of recommendations by the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) and helped companies and financial institutions align operations with the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). Before founding ImplementaSur, Rodrigo advised multilateral institutions, governments and corporations on embedding climate goals into national development plans and investment decisions.
He has also taught climate finance and risk management in executive programs at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, Universidad de Chile and Universidad Finis Terrae. Rodrigo holds an M.S. in Technology and Policy from MIT and a B.S. in Civil and Environmental Engineering Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.
